Short description of the project:

At the moment, the section between Szabadbattyán and Balatonfüred, part of railway line 29, Börgönd – Tapolca, is a one-track, diesel-towed railway line. The speed limit on the track is 80 km/h. In the summer holiday season, significant passenger traffic is present on this line.

As part of the project, in a section of appr. 55 km, electrical overhead power supply line is constructed, and other track reconstruction works will also be carried out.

The stations in Polgárdi, Balatonkenese, Balatonfűzfő and Alsóörs will be completely reconstructed.

The goal of the project is to carry out the first phase of the long-term development, and to establish a fast and economical railway connection between Budapest and the northern part of the lake Balaton. As a result of the project, both the transport time and the environmental load (noise and air pollution) will be reduced. By improving the standard of community transport and passenger traffic facilities, the volume of passenger traffic is expected to increase.

The complete projects is realized using financial assets of the European Union and with the sponsoring of the Hungarian State, as part of the Integrated Transport Operational Program  and the tender system of the Connecting Europe Facility.

Projekt rövid ismertetése:
   

Der Abschnitt Szabadbattyán – Balatonfüred als Teil der Eisenbahnlinie 29 Börgönd – Tapolca ist gegenwärtig eingleisig mit Dieselbetrieb. Die zulässige Geschwindigkeit ist 80 km/h. In der Urlaubszeit im Sommer wird herausragender Reiseverkehr auf dieser Eisenbahnlinie abgewickelt.

Im Rahmen des Projektes wird elektrische Oberleitung in einer Länge von ungefähr 55 km gebaut, daneben bilden auch sonstige Rekonstruktionsarbeiten Teil des Projektes.

Die Bahnhöfe Polgárdi, Balatonkenese, Balatonfűzfő und Alsóörs werden in vollem Umfang umgebaut.

Das Ziel des Projektes besteht im Bau des ersten Abschnittes langfristiger Entwicklungen, in der Errichtung einer schnellen und wirtschaftlichen Eisenbahnverbindung zwischen Budapest und dem Nordufer des Balatons. Im Ergebnis des Projektes werden die Fahrzeit kleiner und auch die Umweltbelastung (Lärm- und Luftverschmutzung) geringer. Durch Niveauerhöhung des öffentlichen Verkehrs und der Projekte des Reiseverkehrs wird das Volumen des Reiseverkehrs erwartungsgemäß weiter zunehmen.

Das gesamte Projekt wird durch Verwendung von Geldmitteln der Europäischen Union und mit Unterstützung des Ungarischen States, innerhalb der Rahmen des Subventionsantrags des Operativen Programms integrierte Verkehrsentwicklung, sowie Netzfinanzierungsmittel verwirklicht.
