As part of the project “Modernisation of railway section 40 a Kelenföld (kiz) – Százhalombatta (kiz) and related facilities”, Homlok Építő Zrt. carried out the reconstruction works of Nagytétény – Diósd railway station.
Using EU resources, the modernisation of railway line Kelenföld (kiz) – Százhalombatta (kiz) began in 2017. Following the investment and the reconstruction of the railway line, the trains will be able to travel by a speed of 120 km/h in this section, and for the convenience and safety of the passengers, accessibility of stations and stops will be provided, and new P+R and B+R parking lots will also be constructed as part of the project.
Homlok Zrt. started the work operations in the spring of last year, at the station Nagytétény-Diósd, using a complete track obstruction. In the first half of the year, breakdown operations were carried out, warranting conditions for starting the construction works. After finishing the substructures, the track construction work operations were also started from the second half of the year. In total, 5796 railway running meters were constructed, and 14 new by-passes were installed using the newest Spherolock locking equipment.
Between the main tracks running along the station, a 250 m long, high platform was constructed, increasing convenience of the passengers, and making getting on and off trains easier. Accessible getting over to the station building is provided by a platform underpass.
At the beginning of 2019, Homlok Zrt. was carrying out some smaller follow-up activities at the station. The signalling equipment and the overhead power supply line was finished, so on 31 March, 2019, the station was seamlessly handed over for traffic.
The investment was carried out using EU and national resources, with the sponsorship of CEF (Connecting Europe Facility), with the investor Nemzeti Infrastruktúra Fejlesztő Zrt.
