Short description of the project:
The section between Kelenföld and Százhalombatta, to be reconstructed as part of the project, is part of railway line Budapest–Déli pu. – Pusztaszabolcs.
In the 205 km long section between Kelenföld and Százhalombatta, a complete reconstruction and modernisation of the railway tracks will be carried out, including reconstruction of the overhead power supply system. A significant part of the railway track will be suitable for a travelling speed of 120 km/h. As part of the project, Homlok Zrt. carries out the reconstruction of the Budafok stop and the Nagytétény – Diósd station.
At Budafok stop, besides the track construction, the outer platform was also reconstructed, the middle platform was renovated, and the old, out-of-order station building was torn down. Thus, the passengers are able to wait for their trains at a convenient, modern stop, increasing the quality of passenger transport service.
The Nagytétény – Diósd station will be completely reconstructed. Besides the two new main tracks running along the station, two by-pass tracks and the so-called Brenntag industrial track will be reconstructed. Homlok Zrt. will carry out the breakdown and construction of superstructures, track reconstruction, and the construction of the cable substructure system and the island platform. Modern by-passes were installed in both switch areas of the station.
The complete projects is realized using financial assets of the European Union and with the sponsoring of the Hungarian State, as part of the Integrated Transport Operational Program and the tender system of the Connecting Europe Facility.
